Axis Bank Foundation - a Friend of VAANI
Axis Bank set up a Foundation in early 2006 to give shape to its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives and committed to set aside up to 1% of its profits, to fulfill the Bank’s responsibilities as a corporate citizen
ABF’s project with VAANI started in March 2010. The Kolkata Metro Project ‘Creating New Horizons’ aims at providing access to pre primary and primary education for deaf children in the slums of Kolkata in Wards 56, 59, 62 and 65 by enabling parents and the extended family of deaf children to fully support the educational development of their young deaf children. The project includes activities to increase the ability of the government workers, education professionals and non government organisations (NGOs) to meet the pre-primary and primary level educational needs of every deaf child.
