Awareness programme at Heritage School, Kolkata
The VAANI team conducted an awareness programme in Heritage School, Kolkata on 11 September 2009 for 300 students of Classes 3 and 4.The children were informed about how sound is related to the formation of language, and how demeaning it was for a deaf person to be termed ‘deaf and dumb’. The school authorities expressed a desire for a training workshop for the teachers in this inclusive school. A similar programme will be conducted for the students of the other classes in the school.
