VAANI and Samuha Samarthya
VAANI works with Samuha Samarthya to develop the range of support Samuha provides for deaf children and their families.
SAMUHA is a development organisation and works in the state of Karnataka in South India. All SAMUHA interventions encourage people to improve their bargaining capacities to cope better with environmental and socio-political factors. Samuha-Samarthya is a CBR programme which runs in the rural districts of Raichur, Koppal and Uttara Kannada. By working in these communities, Samuha has found that deaf children are some of the most marginalised individuals in Indian society.
Our project with Samuha aims to provide home-based support to families with deaf children and facilitate the interaction between families to provide support to one another.
