VAANI Deaf Children’s Foundation is proud to announce the launch of its Newborn Hearing Screening (NBHS) Program in Meghalaya, in partnership with the National Health Mission (NHM), District Early Intervention Centre (DEIC), and Ganesh Das Hospital, East Khasi Hills.
This initiative marks a significant step towards ensuring early identification and intervention for children born with hearing loss. By integrating hearing screening into routine newborn care, the program aims to minimize delays in diagnosis and provide children with the support they need from the very beginning of life.
We are deeply encouraged by the support of the medical fraternity, who recognize the importance of early detection and are working hand-in-hand with us to make ear and hearing health a priority in the state.
This program not only strengthens Meghalaya’s public health response for children with hearing impairment but also reinforces our commitment to building inclusive and accessible healthcare systems across India.
