VAANI, Deaf Children’s Foundation announced today that it has been honored with the prestigious 2012 Top-Rated Award by GreatNonprofits, the leading provider of user reviews about nonprofit organizations.

We presented our findings on the role of civil society and government partnerships in implementing government policies at the grassroots level. Recommendations were also submitted regarding effective policies to be drafted for better prevention of hearing loss and intervention and habilitation services in this field.

We presented our Voice to visualisation tool, a web based application that converts voice into three visuals (Image, Sign and Text). The tool was designed mainly to support the education of Hearing Impaired Children.

On International Women’s Day 2020, Rotary International & Indian Cross Society felicitated five Women Achievers in the fields of Health, Education, Social Work, and Culture. VAANI feels proud that our Executive Director, Ms Sumedha Joglekar received the achievement award in Social Work, for her contribution through VAANI programs.
While expressing her thanks, Ms Sumedha said, “This award is an acknowledgement that Society recognises the importance of Childhood Deafness issue.”
She further highlighted the emphasis of VAANI in reaching untapped and isolated rural pockets of India and thereby reducing the rural and urban development gap. VAANI team feels enthused and resolves to march ahead with added vigour
We stood as one of the 11 finalists among 180 – 200 NGOs that participated in the India NGO Awards 2011. We did not win but we felt no less than a winner on the evening of August 17 in New Delhi. All the finalists were given certificates and holding that certificate in hand itself was a huge achievement.
December 3, 2012 (International Day for Persons with Disabilities) had turned out to be extra special for VAANI as we were announced as WINNERS of the eNGO awards for Advocacy at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, on December 1, 2012!
